"Actions Speak Louder Than Words"

ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS

What you do is more important than what you say; someone’s words may not be trustworthy. This can be used on its own in a sentence to express uncertainty or doubt about something someone has said.

Notice the following:

1番例文:

Hinata: “John keeps saying he wants to take me out for dinner, but then he never does!”

Akari: “If he liked you, he’d really ask you out, wouldn’t he? Actions speak louder than words.“

2番例文:

Yuki: “My boss keeps telling me I will get a raise, but it’s been six months already and he hasn’t given me one!”

Tomoki: “You know what they say: ‘Actions speak louder than words.’ Maybe you should bring it up to your boss the next time you see him…”

Please try this out in your next English conversation, and remember to have fun while practicing! 😀
