会話でよく使う「YOU'RE KIDDING/YOU'RE JOKING...」

You’re Joking/You’re Kidding…

When you say “You’re joking.” or “You’re kidding.” it means you heard some bad news and you cannot believe it.

You're joking.やYou're kidding.と言う場合は、何か悪い知らせを聞いて信じられなくなったという意味です。

Example:

Person A: “Did you hear about Sara? She couldn’t pass the class and has to retake it.”

Person B: “You’re joking… I can’t believe that!”

人物A：「サラのこと、聞いたか？彼女は授業に合格できず、再受験することになったんだ。"

人物B："冗談でしょう・・・信じられないわ！"

Person A: “Did you see the news? The government is raising the age of retirement to 70!”

Person B: “You’re kidding…”

人物A：「ニュース見た？政府が定年を70歳に引き上げるってよ！"

人B："冗談でしょう..."
