“Some” vs “Any”

Today we will talk about the words “some” and “any”. Using these words will greatly help you sound more natural! Let’s begin.

First, we use “some” for positive statements:

Positive Statements:


“I need some butter.”

“We have some food.”

“They had some good ideas.”


Next, we use “any” for negative statements:

“I don’t have any money.”

“They didn’t buy any new clothes.”

“We didn’t bake any cookies.”
